Adam Maskill is an experienced tennis professional, certified by the U.S. Professional I Tennis Association and the British Lawn Tennis Association. As a top junior tennis player in Great Britain, he gained an athletic scholarship to study Exercise Science at both Louisville University and Murray State University. Additionally, he studied Sports Science at South Notts College in Nottingham, England, where we received a two-year degree in Sports Science. He is very passionate about tennis, which led him to begin his professional coaching career in 2005.
Adam Brings Experience
From a wide variety of coaching opportunities over the years. Prior to his work at Charlotte Swim and Racquet Club, he enjoyed coaching at several other tennis clubs, including Olde Providence Racquet Club, Russell Tennis Club, and Matthew Swim and Tennis Club. These experiences allowed Adam to work with a wide range of students from age 4 to adults, including ladies league teams. He also had the privilege of seeing many of his students become college-level players.
Helping Others Reach Their Potential
On the court is one of his favorite things about coaching. In addition to leading camps and tennis clinics, he offers private tennis lessons for adults and children. His wife, Jennifer, and son Hudson, who often spend time at the club, share his passion for tennis.

Jake Spiva is more than familiar with the sport of tennis. He grew up playing at USTA tournaments in the Charlotte area and played high school tennis at Myers Park. Attending the CSRC tennis camp since the age of 7 helped foster his passion for the game and encouraged him to pursue other ways to enjoy the game. Jake has enjoyed attending coaching camps and clinics for the past few years. He is currently a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he is studying business.
Mia Basinger is thrilled to return for her fourth year as a tennis coach here at Charlotte Swim and Racquet Club. Playing competitive tennis in her childhood and adolescence, including junior tournaments, led her to become a starter on the Myers Park Varsity tennis team for her high school career.
In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor hobbies and music with friends, as well as teaching private tennis lessons. Mia is passionate about coaching children in tennis technique and sharing her passion for the game. As a recent graduate from Myers Park High School, she is excited to attend the University of Virginia this fall.
